General Questions
No — access to panels, workshops, and the majority of experiences is first come, first served. The Kickback and Bookchella require a VIP pass or add-on. Moo Moos & Mimosas and The Poetry Slam (to participate) require sign-ups.
Yes, the schedule will be released in the Spring via the BRBF Event App.
Realistically, no. Many experiences run simultaneously so attendees can build their own personalized weekend rather than following one fixed track. We also encourage everyone not to try to do everything — we want you to enjoy yourself, buy books, support indie bookstores, roam free, and attend panels and an experience or two, but monopolizing your schedule leads to exhaustion, overstimulation, and frustration.
The only experiences not included in a General Admission pass are The Kickback and Bookchella.
Ticket sales close once we’re sold out, but sponsorship opportunities may still include festival access — check the sponsorship deck or contact BRBF. You can also join the Facebook group for pass resale opportunities.
Absolutely! BRBF is all about community and making everyone feel warm and welcomed. If you arrive by yourself, you’ll leave with a new bookish bestie. That said, please know your limits and what type of gathering works best for you.
Select experiences, such as Meet & Greets and Soirées, will include complimentary light bites and beverages. However, BRBF does not provide daily meals for attendees. A complimentary Saturday lunch is included for VIP pass holders. Food and beverages will also be available for purchase throughout the hotel and surrounding area.
Each boxed lunch includes a sandwich, Farfalle Pasta Salad, an individual bag of chips, whole fruit, a cookie, and your choice of bottled water or soft drink.
Sandwich selections:
- Grilled Chicken Wrap — Seasoned grilled chicken, fresh mozzarella, spring mix, sliced tomatoes, and herb aioli in a tomato wrap
- Grilled Chicken Breast (Gluten-Free Bread) — Grilled chicken, sliced provolone cheese, roasted red peppers, arugula, and sliced tomatoes with basil aioli
- Smoked Turkey & Bacon Club — Leaf lettuce, sliced tomatoes, creamy Havarti cheese, cranberry aioli on a buttery croissant
- Roasted Vegetable Sandwich — Garlic and herb roasted portabella mushrooms, zucchini, squash, red peppers on a multigrain bun

Book Signings
All authors will sign once a day (Saturday and Sunday) for 3 hours.
We will have the schedule and seating chart available online and in the app
Yes, carts are allowed, but please be mindful that BRBF is a heavily attended event, and space is limited. To ensure a smooth experience for everyone, we ask that you keep cart sizes manageable and be aware of those around you to avoid crowding or accidents.
Yes, you can bring books from home, but please keep in mind that each author will sign for three hours per day (Saturday and Sunday). To ensure everyone has a chance to meet their favorite authors, we recommend limiting it to 3-4 books per author per day. This helps authors connect with all their readers and gives you more time to get books signed by multiple authors.
Yes, there will be an onsite bookstore where you can buy books. Many authors will also sell their titles at their signing table.
The pre-order sheet will e available in January 2026
This will be available January 2026
Most authors and booksellers accept cash, card, Cashapp, Zelle, Venmo, and/or Square.
This may vary, but wear your badge at all times so authors know your name and please request for personalization.
Authors love taking pictures with readers, but please ask first.
Evening Experiences
You must have secure that specific pass to attend any evening experience.
Authors want to have fun, too, so yes, you will see many, if not most, participating in the evening experiences.
Policies
The Black Romance Book Fest has a zero-tolerance policy for harassment of any kind. Anyone found harassing another participant will be asked to leave the festival.
Photography and recording are allowed but may be restricted in certain areas or during certain sessions as requested by speakers or authors.
Volunteer apps open in October 2026
BRBF is a book lover’s dream, which means you’ll want to plan ahead. If you’re traveling or planning to spend full days at the festival, come prepared.
Book carts and rolling carriers are allowed and highly encouraged if you plan to shop. Top-loading carts only. Please note that large suitcases are not permitted in event spaces. Pro tip: decorate your cart so it’s easy to spot.

You never know how much you’ll pick up. Use your tote bag as an extra book holder
You’ll be taking photos, recording moments, and checking schedules. Keep your phone charged.
You’re welcome to bring books for signing. You may bring up to 4 books per author from home. Sticky notes with your name help keep lines moving smoothly.
Each swag bag will have a pen and a black sharpie, but if you have a favorite pen for signatures, bring it along.
Most vendors prefer card or mobile payment. A little cash doesn’t hurt, but plan for electronic payments.
Outside food is prohibited. However, we suggest bringing snacks in your bag and water to stay hydrated. You’ll be on your feet and moving around all day. Additionally, the hotel has stores inside to purchase snacks and beverages.
If you pre-ordered books or merch, bring confirmation just in case.
All attendees must check in and receive an event badge. Your badge must be worn at all times to access signings, panels, and experiences.
To reduce wait times, we recommend arriving early on your first day or checking in during off-peak hours when possible. Registration and entry lines will be clearly marked on-site.
BRBF brings together thousands of readers and hundreds of authors, so some lines and wait times are expected. A little planning goes a long way.
